Past experiences shape present perspectives.
Because no two individuals share the exact same history, no two individuals will have the exact same opinions and beliefs. This is what makes all individuals unique! The ability and openness to view situations from various perspectives is a rare gift and usually requires attention and practice.
This site was developed as a platform for yoga therapists to have the opportunity to take a glimpse of how some very well respected healers, therapists, and doctors may approach and address different topics on health and wellness. Each issue will feature a specific topic where we present short articles written by three different authors to get their take on the matter. The authors of our featured articles are all faculty members of the Yoga Therapy Rx Certification Program (YTRx) at Loyola Marymount University. They have been invited to participate by Larry Payne, director and founder of the YTRx Program and Samata International. Each are highly regarded specialists in their field and most importantly they offer a wealth of knowledge and experience.
The Sanskrit term Guru refers to “master” or “teacher”. The Sanskrit term Darshan refers to “vision”, “sight”, “perception”, or “light”. Gurus shed light to their students so that the students can then become better teachers. And the best teachers are always the best students. For this reason, we invite you to comment on the articles and topics featured so that an open community is fostered and we all can benefit from each other’s insight.
